Return & Refund Policy for Scanning

1. Introduction

At Kallas.in, we provide high-precision 3D scanning services using advanced scanning equipment and software. Our goal is to capture accurate, high-quality digital representations of physical objects according to the client’s requirements. Since 3D scanning is a service-based and customized process, our return and refund policy is structured to address the unique nature of this offering. Please review the terms carefully before availing our scanning services.

2. Nature of 3D Scanning Services

3D scanning involves converting physical objects into digital models, often delivered in formats such as STL, OBJ, or STEP. The output quality depends heavily on factors such as object surface, complexity, material reflectivity, and client expectations.

As scanning is a non-tangible and non-returnable service, refunds and returns are limited and handled on a case-by-case basis, based on the circumstances outlined below.

3. Refund and Rework Eligibility

Refunds or re-scanning may be considered only under the following circumstances:

3.1. Service Not Delivered

If, for any reason, Kallas.in is unable to provide the 3D scanned file or complete the scanning process within the agreed-upon timeline, and the delay is not caused by the client (e.g., object not provided, rescheduling), a full or partial refund may be issued.

3.2. Technical Failure or Incomplete Output

If the final output is:

  • Corrupted or unreadable
  • Missing critical parts of the object due to scanning errors
  • Technically flawed due to equipment or software malfunction

… and these issues cannot be resolved through post-processing or a re-scan, the client may be eligible for a partial or full refund.

3.3. Object Unsuitable for Scanning (Identified After Attempt)

If the physical object proves unsuitable for scanning due to material properties (e.g., high reflectivity, transparency, very small size) and this was not identified or disclosed before scanning began, a partial refund may be issued, excluding preparation and setup costs.

4. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds or returns will not be offered in the following situations:

  • The scanning has been successfully completed and delivered as per the agreed scope, even if it does not meet the client’s subjective aesthetic expectations.
  • The client provided incorrect or unclear specifications or failed to communicate specific requirements before scanning.
  • The scanned model requires editing, reverse engineering, or post-processing not included in the original service scope.
  • The file was accidentally deleted, modified, or misused after delivery.
  • The client decides not to proceed after the scan has been performed.
5. Re-Scanning Policy

If the client is dissatisfied with the output but the scan was technically accurate based on the object’s characteristics, a re-scan may be offered at a discounted rate, depending on time and effort required.

Clients are encouraged to:

  • Clearly communicate expected file format, resolution, and intended use before scanning begins.
  • Provide clean, stable, and complete objects for best results.
  • Notify us within 48 hours of file delivery if an issue is detected.
6. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel a 3D scanning appointment or order prior to the scanning process with no penalty if done at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made after our team has already begun setup or scanning may incur partial charges.

7. Requesting a Refund or Rework

To file a request related to refund, cancellation, or rework, please:

  • Email us at info@kallas.in with the subject line: “Refund/Rescan Request – 3D Scanning”
  • Include your full name, contact number, invoice number or order reference, and a clear explanation of the issue
  • Attach screenshots or images if applicable

Our team will respond within three (3) to five (5) business days. If approved, any refund will be processed within seven (7) to ten (10) business days to the original payment method.

8. Limitation of Liability

While we strive for high accuracy in all our scanning work, we are not responsible for:

  • Functional testing or engineering validation of the scanned model
  • Inaccuracies caused by the inherent physical limitations of the object being scanned
  • Models failing in downstream processes such as 3D printing, CAD modifications, or simulations, unless such services were also contracted through us

Clients must review and verify the scanned file upon delivery.
