Terms & Conditions for FDM Printers
Welcome to Kallas. We appreciate your engagement with our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing equipment. These Terms of Service outline the guidelines for responsible and effective utilization of Kallas FDM printers.
By accessing and operating a Kallas FDM printer, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to the following terms.
1. Operational Safety and Equipment Handling
- Adherence to Documentation: Users are required to thoroughly review and comply with the official Kallas FDM printer user manual prior to commencing any printing operations. This documentation provides critical safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Thermal Hazard Awareness: The printer nozzle and build platform reach elevated temperatures during operation and immediately thereafter. Direct physical contact with these components is strictly prohibited until adequate cooling has occurred to prevent thermal injury.
- Environmental Responsibility: Users are responsible for maintaining a clean and unobstructed operational environment around the printer, free from dust accumulation and filament debris, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Material Compatibility: Only filament materials explicitly specified and recommended for use with the designated Kallas FDM printer model shall be utilized. The use of incompatible materials may result in equipment malfunction, print quality degradation, and potential damage not covered under warranty.
- Active Monitoring During Operation: Continuous or regular monitoring of the printing process is strongly advised, particularly during extended print cycles. This enables prompt intervention in the event of anomalies or equipment malfunctions.
- Prohibition of Unauthorized Modification: Users shall refrain from any unauthorized disassembly, modification, or alteration of the Kallas FDM printer hardware or software. Such actions may compromise equipment functionality, void any applicable warranty, and potentially create safety hazards.
2. Permitted Usage of Printing Capabilities
- Intellectual Property of User Designs: Users retain full ownership and responsibility for the intellectual property rights associated with their self-created 3D models intended for printing on Kallas equipment.
- Licensed Third-Party Content: The printing of 3D models designed by third parties is permissible only upon the user possessing a valid license or explicit authorization from the respective intellectual property rights holder, ensuring compliance with copyright regulations.
- Publicly Accessible Designs: Users may utilize and print 3D models explicitly designated as open-source or within the public domain, subject to the terms and conditions associated with their distribution.
3. Prohibited Usage and Responsible Conduct
- Illicit Material Production: The utilization of Kallas FDM printers for the creation of any items prohibited by applicable local, regional, or national laws is strictly forbidden.
- Hazardous Object Fabrication: Users shall not attempt to produce weapons, components of weapons, or any items that could be construed as dangerous or intended for harmful purposes.
- Intellectual Property Infringement: The reproduction of third-party copyrighted designs without explicit permission or a valid license constitutes a violation of intellectual property law and is strictly prohibited. Users are responsible for ensuring their printing activities do not infringe upon the rights of others.
- Violation of Kallas Policies: Users are obligated to adhere to any supplementary policies or guidelines established by Kallas regarding the acceptable use of its equipment and services, as communicated through official channels.
4. Equipment Stewardship (Applicable to Kallas-Owned Equipment)
- Diligent Handling: Users shall operate Kallas-owned FDM printers with due care and attention, avoiding any actions that could reasonably lead to damage or malfunction.
- Prompt Defect Reporting: Any observed operational anomalies, equipment malfunctions, or signs of damage must be reported to Kallas personnel immediately to facilitate timely maintenance and repair.
- Restricted Self-Repair: Users shall not attempt to perform repairs or maintenance on Kallas-owned equipment unless explicitly authorized and provided with specific instructions by Kallas technical staff. Unauthorized repairs may further damage the equipment and void any service agreements.
5. Consequences of Non-Compliance
Failure to adhere to these Terms of Service may result in the following actions:
- Suspension or Revocation of Printing Privileges: Kallas reserves the right to temporarily or permanently restrict a user’s access to its FDM printing equipment and services.
- Financial Responsibility for Damages: Users held responsible for equipment damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or failure to follow these terms may be liable for the associated repair or replacement costs.
6. Amendments to Terms of Service
Kallas reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms of Service at its discretion. Users will be notified of any significant revisions through official communication channels, and the most current version will be accessible through designated Kallas platforms. Continued use of Kallas FDM printers following notification of amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
7. Client Support and Inquiries
For any clarifications regarding these Terms of Service or operational guidance on Kallas FDM printers, users are encouraged to contact Kallas customer support through the designated communication channels.
In business terms: Users of Kallas FDM printers are expected to operate with a commitment to safety, respect for intellectual property rights, and responsible equipment stewardship. Adherence to these Terms of Service ensures a productive and legally compliant environment for all members of the Kallas community.
